Doc Dissections

Get in touch with your inner surgeon and dissect individually, in a pair, or as a group of four! Receive guidance from a doctor and one of The Health Museum’s science educators and learn about the organ’s anatomy and how to keep the body healthy in a hands-on way!

The Health Museum 2024 Global Teen Medical Summit

July 8-12, 2024

 

Curious about cutting-edge medical treatments and technologies and what they hold for the future? Dream of being on the forefront of your own medical discovery? Considering a career in STEM and medical fields?

Open to all current 9th – 12th grade students, this five-day journey provides an opportunity to explore both the challenges and solutions facing modern day medicine with leading experts from the world renowned Texas Medical Center.

All participants will receive additional event information prior to the summit kick-off.

What you need to know before you come:

  • All classes take place at The Health Museum – 1515 Hermann Drive Houston, TX 77004. 
  • All scouts are required to wear uniforms during class and field trips.
  • All scouts are required to bring their own blue card with their unit leader's signature to start all classes.
  • All scouts attending merit badge classes must be in Class A uniforms, with no exceptions granted. Scouts that fail to come to class in proper attire will not be allowed to remain in class and there will be no refunds provided
  • Scouts should bring a lunch that does not require refrigeration or heating.
  • Parents are encouraged not to stay in the classroom.
  • Advance registration is required for all scout classes.

The museum will no longer be issuing refunds. You will have the option to exchange classes if you can not attend the class you registered for. Refunds will only be issued if scout has an illness.

Timed Ticketing Purchase Policy for Free Family Thursdays (2:00pm - 5:00pm)
 
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests:
  • Tickets for Free Family Thursday must be purchased online in advance, as we are currently operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-up tickets will not be available.
  • Guests are allowed to redeem their tickets at the museum ticketing desk during the 30 min selected entry time. After this period, entry is not guaranteed, and rebooking may be required based on availability. Unredeemed tickets may be forfeited.
  • Add-On Experiences: Any additional experiences, such as Organ Dissection Demos or The DeBakey Cell Lab are not included in the online ticket reservation.

Join us for a day of discovery and fun at The Health Museum’s Homeschool Community Day! This special event is crafted for homeschool families, offering a unique opportunity for students ages 5 to 18 to dive into the world of health and science through engaging, hands-on activities.

CAMP CARE

 

CAMP CARE

Before-Care: For early drop off, our before-care service begins at 7:30 am and will help our campers get motivated and ready to start their camp experience. Parents are welcome to send an early morning snack. No food will be available until lunch time. Pre-care hours are 7:30 am – 8:30 am.

COST: $50/week

After-Care: For late pick-up, our aftercare service begins at 3:30 pm. After-care is available to parents who are unable to pick-up their children at 3:30. Aftercare hours are 3:30 pm 5:30 pm.

COST: $75/week.
