November 11th – Nutrition/Lifestyle – THM & HCPH

Poor understanding of nutrition and its effects have led to an abundance of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Hunger and malnutrition are the biggest threats to health and education in the world as more people die every year from the effects of hunger than from malaria, AIDS, and tuberculosis combined.

Harris County Public Health and The Health Museum are teaming up for this hands-on, interactive workshop that will take you station to station exploring the sensory effects of food, mindful eating, chronic disease management in daily eating, and the importance of micronutrients.  To wrap it all up, there will be an exciting cooking demo! Yes, you can get a taste.
