November 4th – Gardening – Finca Tres Robles

Mitigate the issues of food deserts and food insecurities, and learn how to design and engineer a garden in your own home environment. Agricultural biodiversity and gardening play a key role in providing smallholder farmers with more crop options while also working to reduce the effects of climate change and extreme events such as droughts and floods.

Tommy Garcia-Prats, the Founder and General Manager of Finca Tres Robles Farm, will lead a class that explores engineering and design concepts to help you build your very own garden, no matter how much space you have. Having built his very own farm inside the 610 loop located in Houston’s East Side, Tommy and Museum Science Educators will give you the practical, hands-on tools and understanding you need to design your own garden.
