Biomedical Engineer for a Day

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday June 5

10:00 AM  –  2:00 PM

Ages 10-13

Is it possible to grow new organs in a test tube? How do scientists design new types of materials to replace body parts? This branch of engineering consists of scientists that combine biology, materials science, and engineering design in order to grow tissue in the laboratory as well as design biomedical equipment and devices. You will learn the fundamentals of biomaterials and how scientists work with cells and materials to design organs. Through hands-on experiments, you will learn the fundamentals of what it takes to be a biomedical engineer.
